Welcome to the Ever Growing Pile of Songs. The original song pile became TOO BIG for Live Journal to process without error, so it became necessary to split it up into sections...
I'm going to leave this entry here-- to accomodate your bookmarks, and because i have shared this link from time to time. Sorry for any inconvenience!!

Most of the descriptions piqued my interest, so I'm taking a big chunk of these. I'm looking forward to hearing more of King's X, and you posted a Devin Townsend song I haven't heard before. :D

Sweet! I'm eventuall going to add a bit more King's X because, they've had such a long career, i think it's important to highlight their many styles.
I found the Devin Townsend on his official HevyDevy records site, I believe it is a demo (a 'released demo', possibly?) but it sounds pretty polished to me!
Lots of songs to be found on Devin's site, he's pretty generous, as well as being a metal-god.

I wandered in from ysileftovers, and I love the international flavor here! I haven't heard of most of these groups (except Freezepop - love Freezepop!). I'm taking 13 to check them out and see if I like them. Thanks!

You're welcome! This is so gratifying to me, that you're willing to try all these disparate styles. It is for you that I'm doing this. =) Special bonus song to Roxy641 for taking so many songs and commenting twice:
  • Mia Doi Todd-What if we do

  • As for your perhaps list... I would say your're best bets are:
    1. Ephemera, (These girls are ear candy) 2. Hanne Hukkelberg. (She is so inventive and jazzy)
followed by 3. Bunky, 4. Je Ne Sais Quoi. (You might find the Bunky song a bit silly, and the JNSQ a bit abrasive.)

Thank you for stopping by! Style wise, I'm all over the map. I'm pretty excited about Hanne Hukkelberg and Camille, having been more recently exposed to them, and also having heard enough songs to have a handle on what they do. Really, tho, i don't want to steer you in any direction that could disappoint you/and dissuade you from trying the others. What I'm trying to say is, my song pile reflects about half long term favorites and half new discoveries. 4Shared has song previews, so feel free to check'em out before you commit to a download. I hope that was helpful... =)
